It’s the same story with the drive cage: it’s on rails so that it’s easy to move it forward and backward to accommodate differently-sized PSUs. This gives the Lancool II Mesh extra flexibility for changing hardware setups. Firstly, the front intake fans (or radiator) mount to a “multi-way bracket” that lets you shift your fan and radiator position slightly to suit your cooling hardware.įor example, you can move your fans closer to the motherboard for air-cooled setups or push the bracket out to accommodate thicker radiators. In addition to cooling performance, there are a few small touches to the Lancool II Mesh that we really like. The P500A is a great case and has its advantages, but the Lancool II Mesh is its equal as far as cooling goes. This puts the Lancool II Mesh on par with the pricier Phanteks P500A, making it the better overall deal. How great? Just look at the numbers:Ħ5.5 degrees Celsius in total on an Intel Core i9-9900K running at 4.6 GHz is impressive, as is 57.5 degrees on a stock RTX 2070 Super. So you get great temperatures out of the box. Unlike some more affordable cases, the Lian Li Lancool II Mesh comes fully equipped from the factory with two 140 mm intake fans and a single 120 mm exhaust. These are the basics of any airflow case, and the Lancool II Mesh gets it right. It has a free-flowing front mesh panel and an unrestrictive interior layout without any drive cages or other metal getting in the way. The Lancool II Mesh follows the standard template most airflow cases use. This makes it a no-brainer if you’re looking for the best PC case for airflow in this form factor. It’s not flashy, but it offers some of the best stock cooling performance from a mid-tower PC case, and at a reasonable price too. (I also wanted the surround 3,5mm jacks so I can get rid of my USB adapter)Īnd I do not think I will buy a 5700X since the cheapest one costs 35€ more than the 5800X I bought.Lian Li knows how to make cases, and the Lancool II Mesh proves it. It's the cheapest I found with a PCIe 4.0x16 slot and at least 2 PCIe 4.0x4 M.2 slots. I really didn't know if it would be an issue or not.īut now I guess I should prioritize a new motherboard over a new case. I did worry about the motherboard not being able to hanlde the CPU but I didn't find a way to check that and I thought it would simply throttle down in the worst case and then I could replace the motherboared. It is not a new build, it is a cheap build my dad got a few years ago and I got it about 7 months agoĭuring that time I have been replacing a lot of stuff. Id definitely return it if this is a new build and take some of your case budget for a better board, return the 5800X to get the TDP down 5700X, or know you will undervolt the crap out of it because it will power throttle violently. That thing barely handle PBO 5600X, let alone a 5800X. That is why I need to ask people on this forum for recommendations. It also doesn't know how good the airflow of the case is, or how easy it is to build in, how good it looks or how easy it is to cable manage in. The reason why I don't simply search for cases on geizhals is because there are a lot of cases and it doesn't know their quality, I don't want to buy something that claims to be good but ends up being horrible cheap crap Ok, I checked it out, it's similar except that it has much less categories, has much less filters and has much less information in the item descriptions. (has tonns of filters for every category(there are a lot of those too) and it finds the best prices at the same time) I have never used PCPartPicker before but that sounds kind of like Geizhals which is a website I use a lot In that case I can fit 3 120mm intake fans, but in the other ones only 2. Out of those only the Phanteks Eclipse G360A looks interesting, because I would like to reuse my fans without having to buy new ones Its certainly not perfect but its an option. Most of Fractal's line, all the good Phanteks options, a number of good Lian Li's.īTW if you've not used PCPartPicker, it very quickly allows you to browse based on your requirements. That budget leaves basically all the great options available.
